New Medical Centre Unveiled

New Alderley Edge Medical Centre
Next StoryAlderley Edge Parish Council formally accepted the handover of the new Alderley Edge Medical Centre from Jones Contracts. This is the final step in a project initiated by the previous Parish Council and the Doctors several years ago.
The £2.5m project brings together three village practices under one roof, at the recently refurbished Festival Hall. The new centre facilities include eight consulting and three nurse rooms, boasts a minor surgery facility set to generate income for the surgery, pharmacy and second floor.
Chairman of the Parish Council, Geoff Hall expressed relief that the project had been completed ahead of the crucial deadline of 31st March. “The British Medical Association recently surveyed 200 GPs who were building new surgeries. Over 80% of them expected to run past the NHS England completion deadline, which meant they risked losing their funding altogether. This could easily have happened to us.
“This beautiful new building is the result of hard work by a lot of dedicated people, not least by Jones Contracts. The council has very much appreciated their commitment to this project. I would also like to thank Clive Sellers from Arcus, who acted as agent for the council through the project and provided us with professional advice.”
Dr Thompson from the Alderley Edge Medical Practice agreed. “This has been a long time coming and we thank everyone involved for helping to bring it about. We are very excited to have this 21st century facility to replace our current premises in George Street and we hope our patients will be equally impressed.”
