Vicky Sellers
Director of Finance
“Whatever will be, will be. Becoming stressed will change nothing.”
An introduction —
Vicky initially joined Arcus in 1988 so, as with many of
the management team, she has grown with the
business over a long period of time.
Following her promotion in 1992 she relocated from our Wales office to Manchester as Financial Controller for the practice.
Vicky has assisted the business in the introduction of many of our financial and administration systems, including our web based time recording system to assist in overall financial management of individual projects.
With the rapid growth of the business since the millennium the Board understood the need for greater assistance in the financial management of the business and Vicky was promoted to Director of Finance in 2007.
Having a keen interest in Information Technology Vicky provides an interface between the practice and our external IT consultants, assisting in the management of both our hardware and software systems throughout the practice.
Vicky manages our finance/administration department offering financial advice to the practice alongside that which is provided by our accountants.
Away from work Vicky spends time with her young family and still finds time to go jogging and entering a number of charity fun runs.
Vicky’s Q&A —
What are you most proud of?
My family. My husband has achieved many of his
personal goals in life, e.g. becoming MD of his
company. Both my children (6 and 3) reach new
heights in their own journey through life every single
day.
What was your most favourite subject at school?
Maths – no prizes for guessing that one!
Has anyone ever said something that truly made an
impact on your life?
Louis Vuitton at Selfridges Manchester will be open for
business on ...
What was your first pet and what was its name?
An 11 1 hand palomino welsh mountain pony called
Primrose! She was lovely until she decided to start
kicking my Mum’s horses, so she had to go! She was
replaced with Bimbo, a piebald miniature Shetland who
loved to bite – and I still bear the scars to this day!
What is your best childhood memory?
My brother and I winning the fancy dress competition at the local summer fete by dressing up as Heidi and Goat Boy Peter and taking along one of our neighbour's goat kids as a prop!
What one life lesson have you learned so far, and what
does it mean to you?
Whatever will be, will be. Becoming stressed will
change nothing.
Which has been your happiest moment in life?
The opening of the Trafford Centre.
If told that this is your last day on earth, how would you
spend it?
Shopping!
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you
would do with the money?
Go shopping!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A riding instructor, a jockey or a bio-chemist!.
